Full narration

  1. Hello, I'm Max Walker. I've lived on Canford Cliffs Road for more than twenty-two years. I've raised my family here, and I care about Restore Britain. I don't wear a lanyard and pin badges on my jacket, or publish pictures of my family with a big fluffy dog. I am new to politics, and want to be a councillor, to listen to my community and make a difference, both regionally and nationally.

  2. Penn Hill has many independent shops, cafes and familiar neighbourhood streets. What makes an area special is the everyday things: getting about, looking after shared spaces, reducing crime, with over five hundred last year just in our area, and being heard in the Town Hall, particularly if the BCP Council are making decisions and spending our money without public consent.

  3. Take Penn Hill Car Park. On the twenty-fourth of March, BCP Council approved its proposed sale on the open market. The recorded vote was thirty-five for, fifteen against and three abstentions. This is a public community space, as valuable as a park, and should never be sold.

  4. The site has forty-seven ordinary parking spaces, plus motorcycle spaces and a disabled bay. The council described it as underused. Local traders and residents have also raised concerns about the possible effect on parking and nearby shops. How would selling this car park help business to thrive and allow young children to get onto their school bus safely? This decision is shocking. Maybe the Liberal council now expect seven-year-old children to cycle to school as well!

  5. Over at Poole Park, sixty-three per cent of consultation responses opposed the Whitecliff entrance closure. Cabinet nevertheless approved making it permanent, citing benefits for people walking and cycling and the park environment. Other vehicle entrances remained open. Let me make it clear: Restore Britain is pro-motorist, and I will fight against this crazy cycle lane expenditure.

  6. Council audit reporting recorded nineteen breaches of financial regulations in twenty twenty-five to twenty twenty-six, associated with forty-eight point three million pounds in transaction values. That does not mean the money was lost or stolen, but just unaccounted for. The council says training and guidance are addressing the issues.

  7. There is also nearly two point nine six million pounds in active-travel funding allocated for twenty twenty-six to twenty twenty-seven. It is important to distinguish money allocated from money actually spent, and to recognise that these grants have conditions on how they can be used.

  8. Then there are the practical issues of daily life: school-run parking, road and pavement repairs, blocked drains, lighting, parks, and supporting our local shops. These issues may sound small compared with a council budget, but they affect people every day.

  9. Thank you for listening. I will be so grateful if you can spare half an hour to get down to one of the polling stations this Thursday in our local area and put a big positive cross by your Restore Britain candidate Max Walker. Give our party a chance to show you that we can make a difference, and then we work towards the bigger elections in May. It is from our local community areas, we can build up support and head towards the general election, which is in twenty twenty-nine, but with the failings of Labour at the moment, that could be much sooner. If we can convince two thousand local people, that will attract forty thousand new supporters, and this is how we build our new party, from regional supporters, to be present in Town Hall Councils, take over each county and get our leader Rupert Lowe elected to properly run this Country. Let's Restore Britain Together.
